CEO and Founder

Mr. Lyon leads Lyon Capital, delivering 30 years of business development, finance, and legal experience spanning over 100 countries. 


Mr. Lyon serves as a Mentor in the Creative Destruction Lab, including a leader in the program's Space Stream.   Mr. Lyon has almost 20 years experience in the New Space Sector. He served as Vice President and General Counsel of Space Adventures, working on the $20 million flights of Dennis Tito and Mark Shuttleworth aboard Russian spacecraft to the International Space Station. He also advises multiple companies in the satellite and Earth observation markets. He co-founded Xtronaut Enterprises with the leader of the NASA OSIRIS-REx Mission to create space-related STEM games and education programs.    


Mr. Lyon served as President of Capital Internet, a leader in affinity-based marketing through the Internet, and President of Lyon Capital RE, a real estate investment firm with a track record of completing over $400 million in real estate-related transactions and debt restructurings.   Mr. Lyon served as the Special Assistant to L. William Seidman at the 14,000 person Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Resolution Trust Corporation (U.S. Government Agencies) during America's Savings & Loan financial crisis, and as an Assistant Director for Resolutions at the RTC dealing with larger failed thrifts (over $500 million in assets). He served as General Counsel and Director of Business Development at the real estate workout and management company of J.E. Robert Company, one of America’s largest real estate workout Firms with over $3 billion under management.  


Mr. Lyon practiced law at the Washington, D.C. law firm of Covington and Burling.  Mr. Lyon received his J.D. (cum laude) from the Harvard Law School, and his B.A. (summa cum laude) in History from Brandeis University. He also attended the London School of Economics.

VADM Lee F. Gunn, (Ret.)

Senior Advisor

Vice Admiral Lee Gunn (Ret.) is the Senior Executive Advisor at Lyon Capital Services, bringing decades of experience in national security, energy and other critical sectors.  Prior to joining Lyon Capital Services, Admiral Gunn served as president of CNA Corporation's Institute for Public Research (IPR) in Arlington, Virginia. IPR meets the research and analysis needs of those who address domestic policy issues in the areas of air traffic management, education, safety and security, energy, water, and climate, and other domestic issues.  


Gunn joined CNA Corp. in 2001 after serving in the U.S. Navy for 35 years. His last active duty assignment was Inspector General of the Department of the Navy, and he has extensive experience with manpower, personnel, and training, serving in eight assignments in those areas during his career.  


Immediately after concluding his active duty career, Gunn was asked by the Chief of Naval Operations to lead the Executive Review of Navy Training. The nine-month review was conducted by a senior team of experts in a variety of disciplines from the uniformed Navy, the corps of Department of the Navy Civilians, and the business and education communities. The recommendations of the Review continue to be implemented by the Navy, bringing about a revolution in training and learning for Navy men and women.  


Gunn also serves as: President of the American Security Project, a bi-partisan national security think tank in Washington, DC; Chair of the Board of Advisors of the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA; an advisor to the Global Perspectives Initiative at the University of Central Florida: and a member and Executive Board member of the Surface Navy Association, the professional association of more than 7,000 surface warriors and supporters. He served as President of the Surface Navy Association from 2001-2006.  


Gunn holds a bachelor’s degree in Experimental and Physiological Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.​
